August 6, 2025 – Volkswagen Nepal has launched the Virtus sedan and Taigun 1.5L GT Plus compact SUV at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025. Both vehicles are designed to combine performance, safety, and comfort for Nepali buyers.
The Virtus sedan comes with two petrol engine options: a 1.0L TSI and a 1.5L TSI EVO. The 1.0L version is priced between Rs 56 lakh and Rs 78 lakh, while the 1.5L variant costs between Rs 84 lakh and Rs 91 lakh. Both engines are available with manual and automatic transmission options. Built on the MQB A0 IN platform, the sedan has 179 mm of ground clearance. The 1.5L GT Plus engine delivers 150 PS and features Active Cylinder Deactivation for better fuel efficiency. Safety equipment includes up to six airbags, ESC, Hill Hold Control, multi-collision braking, and the sedan has a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating.

The Taigun compact SUV is offered in 1.0L and 1.5L TSI variants. Prices for the 1.0L range from Rs 53.90 lakh to Rs 83 lakh, and the 1.5L TSI GT Plus is priced between Rs 88 lakh and Rs 94 lakh. Higher variants feature a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The SUV has 188 mm of ground clearance and safety features similar to the Virtus, including six airbags, ESC, Hill Hold Control, and multi-collision braking.
Both the Virtus and Taigun are built on Volkswagen’s MQB A0 IN platform, providing a balance of handling, performance, and safety tailored for Nepalese roads. The 1.5L GT Plus engine delivers 150 PS of power in both models while incorporating fuel-saving technologies.
